Supporting Vaccination Distribution
Combining information about a community's general vulnerability to the harms of disasters — like disease outbreaks and natural events — with current COVID-19 vaccination coverage (percentage of persons vaccinated) can help support and prioritize vaccination efforts.
This map provides such an assessment, depicting CDC social vulnerability data with local vaccination coverage — dark blue regions indicate low vaccination levels in more vulnerable communities; lighter shades of blue indicate more widely vaccinated populations. The goal is to increase the number of census tracts displaying lighter blue colors representing increased vaccination coverage in all communities throughout the state.
Note: Vaccination data uses 2024-2025 season statistics. Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) reflects community characteristics that may influence health outcomes and vaccination access. Higher SVI scores indicate greater vulnerability.
